About The “Sofia and Sam” Project
Sofia and Sam products are being marketed in a unique manner. Instead of the typical way of advertising an online store (i.e. emails talking about the products, etc.), we’ve created a storyline to coincide with the products.
Independent filmmaker, Jill Effron, created/ wrote, directed and produced six mini-soap operas combining a little sitcom, a little melodrama, and a little farce, while incorporating the products that are featured on www.SofiaandSam.com.
The intent is that the internet audience will become invested in the characters ‘Sofia and Sam’, appropriately named for the product line, making it easier for the audience/consumers to remember. With the audience invested in these characters, they’ll keep coming back for more webisodes to see ‘what happens next’ in the lives of Sofia and Sam. Not only will they keep watching the webisodes, hopefully they’ll also buy the products that Sofia and Sam are using. Consumers will see how these products are used in everyday life and be able to relate. This is the opposite of “in-your-face-advertising” that we are so used to on television. “The Sofia and Sam Project” is an innovative, cutting edge marketing approach for today’s consumers and will change the landscape of commercial advertising as we know it.
